Assistant Chief Delton Frazier dies in boating accident.
Delton Frazier, retired Assistant Chief died on Friday April 24th,
the apparent victim of a drowning while casting off his boat at West
Point Lake in LaGrange. Authorities say that he may have entered the
water to retrieve his boat which was drifting away. Sheriff's
Department divers recovered his body on Monday.
Frazier retired from the Dobbins Fire
Department in 1999 and spent most of his retirement fishing on the
lake with his father, who recently passed away. He will be
remembered at a memorial service on Saturday May 2nd at the Cobb
Christian Ministries, 92 Whitefoord Avenue in Atlanta starting at
11am. The following Monday, May 4th, his remains will be interred in
the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA at 10am. Funeral services
are being arranged by Murray Brothers Funeral Home and more
